Mosaique rings in 2011!

Sunday, December 26th, 2010

First, let me thank all of you who continue to generously support not only Mosaique, but live music all over town! It is no exaggeration to say that we could not continue to do what we love to do without you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Second, 2010 was a good year for Mosaique! We released, sold out of, and rereleased our first album, Songs We Know to dazzling acclaim from the most discerning music critics out there – you! We met dozens of jazz artists and efficienados (like you!) who inspire us to keep up the craft and never settle. We debuted several new tunes, including Time To Say Goodbye, Well You Needn’t, I Get A Kick, The Very Thought of You, and our most recent fave, Summer In The City. And we forged new musical relationships and strengthened our current ties as the Portland jazz community continues to thrive.

And now, the fellas and I are excited to announce all sorts of fantastic gigs about town in 2011! Closing out 2010 and kicking off the new year, Mosaique will be playing the hottest New Year’s Eve bash in Portland at Arrivederci, with guest drummer Larry Bard! The event is SOLD OUT, but I think they’re taking a waiting list if you’re still hoping to get in! And then 2011 comes in with a BANG as the pieces of our Mosaique create jazzy art (and artsy jazz) with other fantastic musicians, including Kelley Shannon, Kit Taylor, and the Portland Jazz Trio (George Mitchell, Dan Presley, and Dave Averre). Check out our Shows page for details on all these great events, including Thea’s debut during the Portland Jazz Festival!

And join Mosaique in making one more resolution for 2011 – to keep supporting live music in Portland and keep the community thriving! We wish you all a prosperous, healthy, happy, and jazzy new year!
